Help Learners Choose the Correct Test
Which civics test a learner takes generally depends on when their Form N-400 was filed. Encourage every learner to confirm their situation using their own filing date and official USCIS guidance.
Option 1
Filed before October 20, 2025
These learners may take the 2008 version of the civics test, which uses a 100-question pool.
Please note: our practice modes are built around the 2025 test and its 128-question pool. We do not currently offer a complete 100-question practice mode for the 2008 test, so these learners should rely on the official USCIS 100-question materials.
Option 2
Filed on or after October 20, 2025
These learners generally take the 2025 version of the civics test, which uses a 128-question pool — the version our practice tools are built around.
Our quizzes, flashcards, and interview-simulation preview all use this 128-question pool, so they are a strong fit for these learners.
We share general educational information only and cannot provide individualized legal conclusions. Learners should confirm which test applies using their filing date and official USCIS guidance.
