How We Verify Our Content

Accuracy matters — especially for people preparing for one of the most important tests of their life. Here is how we make sure our content is reliable.

Our Sources

Every piece of educational content on US Civics Practice is based on publicly available official sources:

  • The official USCIS civics test question list (128 questions, 2024 updated format)
  • The USCIS Policy Manual (current online edition)
  • The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)
  • USCIS processing time data and official announcements
  • Form instructions published by USCIS (N-400, I-90, etc.)

We never fabricate sources, invent expert reviewers, or claim government endorsement.

Review & Update Cadence

Immigration policy changes over time. Processing times shift, fees update, and USCIS occasionally revises its guidance. We monitor these changes and update our content accordingly.

Monthly:Processing time data and timeline calculator inputs reviewed
Quarterly:All blog articles checked against current USCIS guidance
As needed:Immediate updates when USCIS announces policy changes, fee changes, or form revisions

Every article and tool page includes a “Last reviewed” date so readers know how current the information is.

Writing Standards

  • We write in plain English. If a term is technical (like “continuous residence”), we explain it.
  • Where uncertainty exists — such as processing timelines or case-specific outcomes — we say so clearly rather than making absolute promises.
  • We do not use dark patterns, fake countdown timers, fake testimonials, or fabricated success statistics.
  • We distinguish between facts (official USCIS requirements) and general guidance (tips based on common experience).
  • Spanish translations are provided for key sections to support bilingual learners.
  • We never claim to guarantee passing the citizenship test or approval of any application.

Bilingual Content

Many of our users are native Spanish speakers preparing for the citizenship test. We provide Spanish translations for key tools, quiz questions, and educational sections.

Muchos de nuestros usuarios son hispanohablantes nativos que se preparan para el examen de ciudadanía. Proporcionamos traducciones al español para herramientas clave, preguntas de práctica y secciones educativas.
